Meet Daren Louison
Daren & Tiffany are the owner-operators of VAM Building Inspections, an independent building and timber pest inspection business based in Frankston. Serving Melbourne, largely in the South-East and the Mornington Peninsula.
Together Daren & Tiffany bring over 25 years of Business Management and customer focus to the forefront of the business. With a strong background in carpentry, specializing in finishing, Daren has operated Victorian Asset Maintenance – a property maintenance floor sanding and handyman business – since 2009. Tiffany’s strong background in practice management brings a specialized attention to the detail written in the building reports. Today they bring it all together: 28+ years in management and on the tools, more than $150 million in projects, and the ability to inspect a property and fix what’s found.

You’ll understand it. That’s the whole point. Daren writes every report in plain English and walks you through it by phone – no technical terms without an explanation, no fine print, and no question is a silly one. If something’s unclear, you ask, he explains, simple as that.
Residential building inspections in Australia follow AS 4349.1-2007 (Inspection of buildings – Pre-purchase inspections – Residential buildings) and AS 4349.0-2007 (General requirements). In addition to the standards, Daren will cover the following on a walk-through: roof space, subfloor, moisture, structural movement, drainage, safety hazards, and more – inside and out. Daren goes through every corner most buyers never think to look at.
Yes – and earlier than most people think. Auction properties sell unconditionally, so you need your inspection done before auction day, not after. Call Daren as soon as you’re seriously considering a property.
A building inspection covers the structure and condition of the property. A pest inspection checks for termites and other timber pests, which a standard building inspection doesn’t cover. Most buyers get real value from both, done together, in one visit.
